About

The story behind the guitar.

Ray Palmer, Multi Instrumentalist

I started playing guitar at seven and worked through all six Mel Bay books by the time I was eleven. Then I quit—the lesson songs felt dull, and I wanted to play like the Beatles, Bob Dylan, and the Rolling Stones. At fifteen, I picked up the guitar again, joined my first band, and never looked back.

For the past 25 years, I've played in an eclectic mix of bands throughout San Antonio, exploring different styles, sounds, and musical collaborations. Whatever the project, I'm still chasing the excitement that first drew me back to the guitar: making music with other people.
